IPOB/Biafra Unrest: Ifeanyi Agu Maxwell Flee Nigeria, Seeks Asylum

Nigeria’s Biafra problem has been rearing its head again in the last three years, the specter of disintegration. For more than three years, Nigeria has been embroiling in bloody/deadly societal unrest in Nigeria's eastern region, Biafra had unsuccessfully tried to secede from the country under the banner of the Republic of Biafra. 


Since 2016, IPOB agitators have been undergoing threats, imprisonment, restriction of movement. Some of the victims include; Mazi Friday Ezegbulam a.k.a Nkuwasi who was picked at Umudike junction; Mazi Chamaroke Onwuka, a retired police officer who was picked up in his office along Bende Road Umuahia; and about 35 others arrested mostly in Aba.


Ifeanyi Agu Maxwell, a native of Udi local government in Enugu has been going through alot of traumatic experience due to the fact that he is a member of Independent People of Biafra (IPOB), a group of agitators seeking secession from Nigeria to become Biafra Republic.


According to Ifeanyi, he doesn't have rest of mind living in Nigeria due to threat to his life and attempted attack on him and other Biafra Agitators.


As at the time of this report, Ifeanyi Agu Maxwell is seeking asylum in one European country due to the fact that his life is not safe living in Nigeria.
