Justice Maimuna Abubakar of the Niger High Court, has ordered the arrest of the Managing Director of Polaris Bank, Omokayode Lawal and the Minna Branch Manager for contempt of Court.
Justice Abubakar made the order sequel to the allegation of tax evasion by the duo to the tune of N1 billion.
Niger State Internal Revenue Service (NSIRS) had filed its case through Muhammad Ndayako against the defendants for their refusal to pay taxes worth more than N1 billion.
The duo were absent during the court proceeding on Wednesay.
The warrant of arrest against the Managing Director and the Minna branch manager was as a result of their refusal to honour the Court Summon to be present in court.
