Telecommunications company, Globacom, has sent a goodwill message to the Muslim faithful in Nigeria as they complete the 30-day fast which is one of the cardinal obligations of Islam.
The holy month of Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar in which the Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset for 30 days.
“It is a month of sacrifice, abstinence and, above all, love to all. We therefore encourage Nigerians to show love and be their neighbour's keeper,” Globacom noted in a press statement issued in Lagos.
Said the company, “As they celebrate Eid-El Fitr festival, we call on them to continue to live up to the tenets of their faith through acts of charity, peaceful co-existence with their neighbours and obedience to the injunctions of the Holy Quran”.
The company further urged Nigerians to use the celebration of Sallah to introspect on their spiritual life as individuals and commit to making more sacrifices towards building a better nation for all.
Globacom charged its teeming subscribers to avail themselves of the several innovative and affordable products on the network to stay in touch with their loved ones during the holidays and beyond.
